Abstract

Most strategy development models do not take ethics and personal ambitions of the employees into account. The consequence of this is unethical behavior and insufficient buy-in by the personnel. This article introduces a strategic management model related to the balanced scorecard concept, in which learning, formulating the personal ambitions of people, and balancing them with their personal behavior and the shared ambition of the organization, forms the starting point. Figure 1 shows the developed strategic management model which is divided into the Personal and the Organizational Balanced Scorecard. This is an instrument for making the personal and organizational mission and vision operational, based on the related critical success factors, objectives, performance measures, targets and improvement actions, as divided along these four different perspectives.
