Abstract

Meeting the expectations of employers’ and related sector is important in gaining a competitive advantage and is thus an opportunity as well as a big challenge faced by universities. Quality Function Deployment (QFD) is a methodology to translate customer requirements into the final product or service characteristics. The purpose of the study is to evaluate different teaching methods in perspective of employers’ expectations using the QFD approach. This study takes a sample Industrial Engineering course as an example and uses QFD methodology in assessing the effectiveness of teaching methods in the perspective of employers’ expectations. The findings will help the instructors to improve their courses to meet the employers’ expectations.
