Abstract

In the study by Yun Wang and colleagues,1 the authors set out to examine the effects of two SNRI antidepressant class medications (duloxetine and desvenlafaxine) on resting state functional connectivity and the association of these medications with alleviation of symptoms of depression. This study included data from two double-blind, placebo-controlled trials of SNRI antidepressants (10-week trial of duloxetine and 12-week trial of desvenlafaxine) in the treatment of adults with persistent depressive disorder, with MRI scans obtained in a subgroup of patients before and after treatment.
