Abstract
Homologous oligomeric alkylpyridinium surfactants have been prepared by an elimination–addition reaction that is simpler to perform and easier to control than conventional synthesis or polymerization. It can be carried out in a variety of protic solvents, or performed in situ on aqueous solutions of self-assembled monomeric surfactant.
