0.1. The following text, recorded in the summer of 1961 from a bilingual Hopi woman from Shipawlavi, contains a large number of English stems as loan words utilized with Hopi morpheme suffixes. The informant, who is approximately fifty-six years old, has lived in Shipawlavi all her life except for a four year period in the 1920s when she was a student at the Sherman Institute, Riverside, California and for a period of three years during World War II when she lived in Winslow, Arizona and Barstow, California.
