Abstract

The Stroh formalism is elegant and powerful in solving two-dimensional deformations of anisotropic elastic solids. It has been extended to anisotropic piezoelectric materials. The formalism, however, does not apply to inhomogeneous materials. A different approach is employed here to solve the problems of an angularly inhomogeneous piezoelectric material subjected to a line force, line charge and line dislocation at the centre of the material. It is shown that the basic solution, in a real form, is identical in expression with the basic solution for homogeneous piezoelectric materials.
