Abstract

A description of the Acoustics Research Laboratory at the Centre for Building Studies, Concordia University, is presented. The laboratory is of rather lightweight construction due to physical constraints on the space available and allowable floor loadings. The laboratory consists of two coupled reverberation chambers and is designed to permit research investigations of sound transmission, sound absorption and sound power. The instrumentation system which utilises the GP1B (IEEE-488) interface for control and measurement is also described.
