Abstract
Reaction of VIVO(acac)2 (where Hacac = acetylacetone) with 2-hydroxybenzylalcohol (H2L) produces [VVO(L)(acac) (H2O)], 1 but the above reaction mixture produces [VVO(L)(hq)(CH3OH)], 2 and [VIVO(HL)(pa)(CH3OH)], 3 in presence of 8-hydroxyquinoline(Hhq) and picolinic acid(Hpa), respectively.
