Abstract

Reusable rocket engine has become popular which is considered to decrease the cost of liquid rocket. Life always plays a crucial part in reusable rocket engine and it's necessary to predict the life of thrust chamber. Thrust chamber suffers from high temperature and pressure difference between gas-side wall and coolant channel which limits the life of rocket engine. In order to predict life of rocket engine, taking reusable liquid rocket engine as an investigated object and based on Porowski beam model. Porowski model calculates damage caused by fatigue, and thinning after each firing cycle. Damage results could predict life of reusable rocket engine which is manufactured by copper alloys. Life results are presented to evaluate which kind of material has better performance in reusable rocket engine.
