Abstract
The life cycle of Procerovum calderoni was demonstrated experimentally in the Philippines. In the operculate brackish water snail, Thiara riquetti, the parapleurolophocercous cercaria develops in rediae and penetrates Mollienesia latipinna which was also found naturally infected. Metacercariae encysted mostly in muscles at the base of the fin cartilages, and developed to ovigerous worms in the small intestines in 8 to 10 days, when fed to laboratory-reared kittens and a puppy.
