Abstract

Electronic products are often used in our daily life these days. These are electronic parts made of various materials, some of which have a higher environmental impact. Samarium ferrite is one of the types of materials used in electronic devices. The aim of this research is to analyze the impact assessment of ferrites on their effect on the environment, consenting technologists to evaluate ecological factors. Samarium ferrites were subjected to a life cycle assessment using an interim evaluation technique. SimaPro 9.2 was used to create the LCA model, which was constructed on the LCI- life cycle inventory Eco-invent v3.4 database. The ReCiPe and Carbon Footprint methods were used to quantify the environmental effect values and a wide range of results were obtained depending on the materials. There were significant differences between the results and the results obtained with EcoInvent ferrite. The presence of manganese in the studied samarium ferrites is a major environmental problem, as well as these materials have significant ecological consequences and their source hazard is growing in last years, which is a cause for concern in global manufacturing.
