Abstract

The Schrodinger equation with the position‐dependent effective mass (PDEM) is studied by different methods to obtain exactly solvable potentials. In this work, by using of Lie algebra method in particular su(1,1) algebra is presented to the most general Schrodinger equation in one dimension with PDEM. Also, we compare the results of su(1,1) algebra with exactly solvable potentials that are obtained from the corresponding with constant mass Schrodinger equation. Therefore, we can show that the same results are obtained for solvable potentials which related to special functions.
