Abstract

The paper describes the lidar complex of a small lidar station for high-altitude sounding of the atmosphere of the V.E. Zuev Institute of Atmospheric Optics SB RAS (SLS). The lidar complex is based on a Newtonian telescope with a mirror 1m in diameter and is designed to monitor the vertical stratification of aerosol and the distribution of temperature and density in the middle atmosphere. Its block diagram and technical characteristics are given. A description of both the hardware and software control systems, recording and processing of measurement results is given. The profiles of the vertical distribution of aerosol, temperature and density in the altitude range of 10-70 km are presented as an illustration of the operation of the lidar and a demonstration of its capabilities.
