Abstract
The information centres are now struggling with many challenges for the development of information management. Library services, library management and some other day to day activities of the library are controlled by the Information Communication Technology (ICT). Information communication technology (ICT) in libraries provides information storage, processing, communication, dissemination of information automation etc. in a large way and the society has witnessed the contribution of ICT towards the development of libraries. It is also very difficult to measure the professional activities of the library professionals and it will differ from institution to institution in academic and research field. It cannot be over looked in every institution and there is some conflict and mistrust among the decision makers as they lack alignment. They don't collaborate effectively and try to operate the system in silos. Here is an attempt to discuss the challenges for the library professionals to organize their libraries in 21st century.
