Abstract

This case study looks at the LibQUAL+™ 2002 survey results for the Medical Library and Peyton T. Anderson Learning Resources Center (LRC) at Mercer University School of Medicine in Macon, Georgia. Mercer has a problem-based learning (PBL) curriculum with a strong community-based component and a small student body. The effect PBL has on the library and LRC was felt to be a major contributing factor in the library's survey results. Several of Mercer's scores were higher compared to other libraries: a higher average for general satisfaction, a positive average service superiority score, and a higher frequency of daily library use on premises response. There were no instances in the gap analysis in which the library failed to meet minimum expectations.
