Abstract
The paper profiles to study certain lexical innovations in the Ukrainian linguistic pictureof the world through laughter perception of the world reality in the maidan and postmaidanperiods. Extensive coverage is given to the latest lexical units circulated mainly on the Internetnetwork in comments, blogs, posts that create a humorous effect and act within the humorousinterdiscourse. Aplay on words makes the process of converting negative into positive. In its turnlaughter negates aggression; inclusion into the game with lexical innovations means a new joyof world perception and encourages active updating of the language. The latest word-formationprocesses with the splashes of humor reflect the turbulent events and serve as a kind of protectiveshield and a weapon of intellectual defeat
