Abstract

The Idaho dusty plasma device is a facility devoted to understanding the dynamics of the dust particles. As an initial step in this process, dust clouds have been trapped in a DC glow plasma. Plasma characteristics and the dynamical properties of the dust particles have been measured using Langmuir probes and optical diagnostics, respectively.
