Abstract

Objective To investigate the changes of the androgen receptor (AR) protein expression in male patients with acute myocardial infarction (AMI) and its possible clinical significance. Methods Forty male patients with AMI were selected as AMI group, 40 patients with coronary heart disease were selected as control group; AR protein expression of the two groups was detected by enzyme linked immunosorbent assay. Results The expression level of AR protein in AMI group [(9.366±1.974) nmol/L] was higher than that in control group [(2.276±0.415) nmol/L], P<0.05. Conclusions The AR protein expression is elevated in the male patients with AMI, it suggests that AR may be involved in the development of AMI.
