Abstract
The year 2012 was special in my professional life because it was my 10th year as the Editor-in-Chief of Basic & Clinical Pharmacology & Toxicology. It has been an exciting journey for me personally and hopefully also for the readers and the authors. The BCPT Nordic Prize 2012 was awarded to Professor Michael J. Mulvany from Aarhus University, Denmark, who will be presented with the prize on 16 January 2013 at the annual meeting of the Danish Society for Pharmacology in Odense, Denmark. We had the great pleasure of publishing the abstracts of the XXV Congress of the Spanish Society for Clinical Pharmacology, held from 27–29 September 2012 in Alicante, Spain. During 2012, as always, I have had an excellent collaboration with the two Associate Editors, Jens Lykkesfeldt and Ulf Simonsen as well as with Copy Editor Henrik Horneberg. I have also had an excellent collaboration with MiniReview Editors Eeva Moilanen, Jesper Hallas and Lisbeth Ehlert Knudsen as well as with the members of the Executive Committee and all of the Editorial Advisers. By the end of 2012, we took leave of Editorial Advisers George B. Corcoran, Prasada Rao S. Kodavanti, Nancy Rusch and Mikael Rørth, and I wish to thank them wholeheartedly for their great efforts while they were serving the journal. At the same time, I would like to welcome Filippo Drago, Ewen MacDonald, Ulla Mari Pesonen and Nils Brünner as new Editorial Advisers. Finally, I direct my thanks to all the scientists who continue in increasing numbers to submit their manuscripts to BCPT and to all of the external reviewers who evaluate them very critically. I wish you all a Happy New Year!
