Abstract
Petah-Tiqva .—Many events and developments have occurred recently in Israeli pediatrics. The following are a few highlights. THE PRADER LECTURE IN PEDIATRIC ENDOCRINOLOGY To honor Prof Andrea Prader, the eminent pediatrician and director of the Kinderspital in Zurich, for the important contributions he has made in the field of pediatric endocrinology, a yearly Prader Lecture and Symposium on Pediatric Endocrinology has been inaugurated at the initiative of the Institute of Pediatric and Adolescent Endocrinology of the Beilinson Medical Center (headed by myself) and the Sackler School of Medicine of Tel Aviv University. The first Prader Lecture took place on Dec 10, 1980, on the campus of the Tel Aviv University and was delivered by Professor Prader himself on the subject Growth and Hormones. Professor Prader discussed intrauterine growth, postnatal growth, prepubertal and pubertal spurt catch-up growth, as well as growth under pathological conditions.
