The combination of the COVID-19 pandemic and social unrest turned education on its head this quarter. Consideration of students’ nonacademic struggles also resulted in course modifications. This last method may have been the most effective in promoting student engagement, especially during the remaining 2 weeks of the quarter with increasing worldwide social unrest.
