Abstract

A variety of prostatic lesions may be consituted by clear cells and the differential diagnosis under these conditions is wide. The cytoplasm may become clear for several reasons such as: accumulation of glycogen and fat, increase of water, and dilatation of sub-cellular organelles. The differential diagnosis includes a multiplicity of benign and malignant prostatic lesions as: clear cells cribriform hyperplasia, sclerosing adenosis, atypical adenomatous hyperplasia and other cancer mimics. These conditions are discussed and illustrated in the present paper.
