Abstract

Abstract LESCALLOY D6AC VAC ARC is a high-hardenability low-alloy steel for high-strength structural applications requiring tensile strengths up to 280,000 psi. It provides a high ratio of yield strength to tensile strength, good ductility and excellent notch toughness with a tough, fibrous fracture as low as 210 F in impact tests. It is produced by the vacuum consumable electrode melting process to provide optimum cleanliness and preferred ingot structure. Its uses include fasteners, shafting and aircraft components. This datasheet provides information on composition, physical properties, hardness, elasticity, and tensile properties. It also includes information on high temperature performance as well as forming, heat treating, machining, and joining. Filing Code: SA-335. Producer or source: Latrobe Steel Company.
