Abstract

Kangaroo care is a unique tool to take good care of the mother and the baby in case of opioids and other sub- stances use during pregnancy. Allowing both neonatological medical care and good basis for a tight relation between the mother and the newborn without any separation, the Kangaroo unit is the best place to cure the baby, to evaluate mother's skills and and further- more allows a reduction in withdrawal symptoms requiring the use of opioids in children and durations of less hospitalization.
