Abstract

Many artistic initiatives are currently being developed in Colombia. This country is struggling to reconstruct its own narrative in the face of armed conflict that has been going on since the 1940s. Art provides a space of openness and mediation. It bears witness to the memory of those who went through this conflict and are still suffering its consequences. A Peace Agreement was signed in 2016 between the FARC-EP guerrillas and the government of ex-president Juan Manuel Santos, but the uncertaintyof its implementation affects both the civilian community and the peace signatories. In this context, the encounter around muralism and graffiti unites the urban artists of Medellín and the peace signatories of Chocó. These artistic practices allow them to assert their values and build a peaceful community.
