Abstract

Summary: Omo-323, a fragmentary cranium of a Hominid from the Shungura Formation is described and is attributed to A. boisei. Based on univariate and multivariate analyses, an attempt is made to reconstruct paleoenvironments of the time period represented by the Shungura Formation. The results of these studies indicate that the most important environmental change that considerably affected the faunal composition occurred around 2.3 Ma.
