Abstract

This article is about the fact that the newspaper style of narration is distinguished, on the one hand, by the presence of a “standard” like an abundance of cliché words and on the other hand, by various expressive means. After analyzing the lexical and stylistic features of French newspaper texts, we came to the conclusion that the standardization of newspaper texts lies in the presence of socio-political vocabulary and cliché words, and expressiveness - in the use of evaluative vocabulary, colloquial speech style and stylistic figures.
