Abstract

This work presents the results of a contrastive analysis of the inaugural speechs of the French Fifth Republic using computer tools (Iramuteq). It is structured around three main axes. The first is to deal with a discursive genre in its own right, linked to a solemn event, in order to become aware of its enunciative particularities, to answer the question relating to its nature, and then to focus on the singularities of the speakers and to apprehend their own strategies of persuasion, as well as the historical conditions which shaped these speeches. Finally, we will try to understand the factors that led to the emergence of a discourse that breaks with a discursive genre that was previously considered particular.
