Abstract

A review of work on point defects in lithium fluoride is given. The electronic defects, vacancies, color centers, and larger defects are described. It is shown how these defects determine the electrical, optical, and mechanical properties of the lithium fluoride. The irradiation effects of x and gamma rays and neutrons, at reactor temperatures or lower are also reported. (auth)
