Abstract
AbstractApril 15, 2007, marks the 300th anniversary of Leonhard Euler's birth. This article pays tribute to the great mathematician who originated graph theory. We provide an overview of his life and his mathematical works, with particular emphasis on the historical development of the concept of Euler paths and cycles. © 2007 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
