 The article is a printed version of a lecture titled “The Indian elites of the 16th century: Identity and strategies after the conquest of Mexico” given at the University of Warsaw in Decmeber 2003. The article describes the socio-political structures of the Aztec world. It describes the social organization practices that were related with the Aztec conquest.
