Abstract

Marriage for Muslims is carried out by the bride's guardian (father who is still alive) together with the groom witnessed by officials from the Office of Religious Affairs (KUA). For those who are Christian, the wedding must be performed in front of a priest. After that, those who are Muslim will register with the KUA, while for non-Muslims the registration will be carried out by the Population Bureau (KCS) officers in each city/region. Marriage is closely related to religion. Article 29 paragraph (1) of the Constitution of the Republic of Indonesia clearly states that the state is based on Belief in the One and Only God. The main points of this article can be explained as follows: in Indonesia, there may not be or apply any law that is contrary to religious principles that affect adherents of religions that affect Indonesia. Religious freedom is not only for adults but also for children. UU no. 35 of 2014 concerning changes to Law no. 23 of 2002 concerning Child Protection Article 43 gives responsibility to the state, federal and regional governments, communities, families, parents, guardians and public institutions to ensure child protection in the regions. adopt their religion.
