Abstract
From the perspective of the need to ensure safety of the society by ensuring the safety of the individual, it is important to introduce legal regulations that will guarantee protection to individuals reporting instances of law violation, the so-called whistleblowers. Under current legislation, their only protection is the relevant labor court and, in some cases, the criminal procedure code. The European Union's goal is to enforce, through its Directive, the introduction of appropriate regulations at the national level, that will contribute to ensuring an adequate level of security for whistleblowers, both through internal company channels and at the public authorities level or in the event of public disclosure.
