Abstract

The latest scientific reports encourage teachers and parents to try to learn to read with the youngest children. Analyzes of the achieved research results indicate the effectiveness of this type of undertaking. The presented report from the research is the result of a pedagogical experiment. The research material was preceded by the characteristics of individual concepts that were used in the project on the level of effectiveness of selected methods of learning to read. These include: the Doman Method and two different original methods: first one presented by Irena Majchrzak (based on the child's name) and the second by Bronisław Rocławski (learning to read and write using the phonetic-letter-color method). From the research carried out, conclusions were drawn that were addressed to teachers. They show that it is worth introducing reading instruction in kindergarten, because it gives a chance for educational success and, above all, it has a positive effect on all spheres of a child's development.
