Abstract

Legal consequences for political buzzers in Indonesia that are present as a result of the development of social media in the contemporary era. Social media can be accessed and used by anyone in Indonesia who has the ability to use the required technology, currently there are no specific rules regulating the use of social media even though Indonesia already has Law Number 11 of 2008 concerning Electronic Information and Transactions, however in fact, it has not been able to anticipate the buzzer phenomenon that is present due to the development of social media. Identification of the problem under study is how the legal consequences for political buzzers in Indonesia. This research is a normative legal research using a conceptual approach using primary, secondary and tertiary legal materials. Analysis of legal materials is carried out using qualitative analysis, with deductive reasoning. The results showed that buzzer is not something that is prohibited, they must make specific legal rules regarding registration on social media and create a social media buzzer settlement system based on character building education so that people will use social media positively.
