Abstract
The article is devoted to the definition of the constitutional conditions for the admission of new subjects to the Russian Federation. Special emphasis is placed on the formal legal approach to the disclosure of the subject of research. The author substantiates the independence of the procedures: “admission of a new subject to the Russian Federationˮ and “formation of a new subject within the Russian Federationˮ. Substantial analysis of proposals to amend the federal constitutional law “On the procedure for Admission to the Russian Federation and the formation of a new subject of the Russian Federation in its compositionˮ has been carried out.
