Abstract

Hypertension is the most common predisposing factor for cardiovascular (CV) conditions, including left ventricular hypertrophy (LVH). Left atrial (LA) mechanical dispersion (MD) is a measure of LA dyssynchrony that predicts onset of atrial fibrillation (AF). The extent of LVH on LA MD in hypertensive (HTN) patients has not been determined and would provide insights on risk stratification in hypertensive patients.
