Abstract

The dentition replacement period is a time of intense changes within the stomatognathic system. In case of planning treatment of children between 6-12 years old with stomatognathic abnormalities the extent of disorders and their impact on facial skull’s individual tissues and organs development should be evaluated. The article indicates the most common causes of irregularities within the stomatognathic system of patients with mixed teeth, and possible interdisciplinary solutions, with encountered diagnostic and therapeutic problems taken into account. Difficulties in the rehabilitation of adolescents between 6 and 12 years of age with acquired and congenital disorders result from intensive changes in the dental system and prosthetic ground, which are related to the development of the facial part of the skull and teeth replacement. Interdisciplinary procedure in this age group should be based on the main determinants of which are: clinical picture and the extent of disorders, long -term forecast, patient age and dental system development dynamics.
