Abstract
Leadership and leadership style play an important and necessary role for the key leaders in state-owned enterprises and contribute to influencing the performance or achievements of enterprises. In the context that state-owned enterprises need to develop a methodical and long-term strategy in recruiting, training, and fostering management and operating capacities, research on leadership styles of the key leaders in state-owned enterprises is extremely essential. This article systematised the theoretical basis of leadership and leadership styles of the key leaders in state-owned enterprises and then analysed the experience of international studies on leadership styles as the basis for the perception and formation of leadership styles of key leaders in state-owned enterprises in the new context.
