Abstract

This article discusses the need for succession planning and management particularly as it relates to the science and technology community. The author developed a Leadership Capacity Building Model for use by a specific population associated with the National Science Foundation. The model and example provided could easily be adapted by other organizations that want to be proactive in building the leadership component of their human capital assets.
