The Nematode and Cestode parasites of french red foxes are reviewed, and their possible sources of infection discussed. A special mention is made of the epidemiological data concerning Echinococcus multilocularis in Auvergne and Haute-Savoie. Arvicola terrestris, Microtus arvalis and Clethrionomys glareolus are natural intermediate hosts, while the domestic dogs may act as definitive hosts. Our data are compared with those mentioned in the western european litterature
