Abstract

In today’s world, communication plays a very important role, in fact customers are expecting a very high-speed communication service. Although we have the fifth generation (5G) wireless communication network in use, due to the associated limitations, researchers are finding a way to develop and introduce the sixth generation (6G) wireless communication network. In 5G, the issues like privacy, rural coverage area, cost of implementation, mismatch between the speeds of upload and download have been reported by the end users such as industries and academia, which increase the need for development of 6G. The expectations from 6G will be far beyond just the mobile networking. It is expected to support mobiles as well as advanced communication systems. To deliver lightening speed communication network with 6G, it is necessary to invent light-weight architecture with protocols that support high-speed communication irrespective of the type of information being transferred through the network. This chapter gives a description about the layered architecture and the corresponding issues in 6G networks.
