Abstract

Law libraries are characterized by their focus on legal information and their support for those involved in the study and practice of law. Notable examples include academic, public, court, law firm libraries and libraries for barristers and solicitors. Law libraries have been impacted by the development of electronic legal resources and have adapted their services in response. Developments in technology will continue to impact both the legal world and law libraries, as will changes in society. Given the high cost of legal information, it will be critical for law libraries to continue to demonstrate their value to their parent organizations.
