Abstract
In an ever-evolving world, information and knowledge play invaluable roles in decision-making. For this reason, there are various paradigmatic dimensions to these concepts. In this section, the scope is limited to libraries, librarianship, and information science. It, therefore, stands to reason to focus on a critical theory of these concepts within this context. Since sub-concepts like misinformation, disinformation, and fake information have become prevalent, especially during the Covid-19 pandemic, it is important to position these for future generations of students, both undergraduate and postgraduate, researchers, academics, and practitioners in the various sub-sectors of libraries, librarianship, and information science.
