Abstract

A two body potential proposed to account for the interatomic interactions of graphite has been used to investigate the phonon dispersion and the shear elastic constants of first, second and third stage graphite intercalation compounds of lithium, potassium, rubidium and cesium. A fairly good agreement has been obtained with the available experimental results establishing the validity of the two body interatomic potential.
