Abstract
A new prototype of zero-voltage soft-switching (ZVS) single-stage ac-ac converter for high-frequency (HF) induction heating (IH) applications is presented in this paper. By adopting a Silicon Carbide (SiC)-MOSFET and SBD hybrid power named as all SiC power module, the high-efficiency power conversion can be attained with ZVS under the condition of 100 kHz HF switching. The essential performances are demonstrated in experiment using a 2 kW-100 kHz prototype with a Si-IGBT ant the validity of wide-band-gap (WBG) -based power converter is discussed from the practical point of view in the field of industrial IH system.
