Abstract
An unnamed fossiliferous sandstone — siltstone sequence of shallow water origin crops out along the western flank of Misery Hill, western Tasmania. It rests unconformably on the Misery Conglomerate the top unit of the Dundas Group; the contact with the overlying Ordovician Gordon Group limestone is concealed. Fossils within the sandstone — siltstone sequence include inarticulate brachiopods, bellerophontid monoplacophorans and two new saukiid trilobites, Diemanosaukia miserabilis gen. et. sp. nov. and Saukia? blissetti sp. nov. A very Late Cambrian, probably Payntonian, age is suggested by the trilobites, thus giving an upper limit to the age of Dundas Group and a lower limit to the age of the Gordon Group limestone in the Dundas area.
