Abstract

In a recent paper, Bhatnagar and Guillory1 demonstrated the use of an IR—visible laser double-resonance technique to -study the intramolecular and intermolecuiar energy transfer processes in glyoxal-CH3F mixtures. The temporal behavior of various vibrational modes in glyoxal was studied, and some characteristic rate constants are reported. In this paper, we report the results of a similar study on an intermediate size molecule, methylglyoxal (Fig. 1), which has 21 vibrational modes.
