Abstract

Dye lasers have become an indispensable instrument in any spectroscopy or photochemistry laboratory. Many efforts are being made in studies aimed to improve dye lasers efficiency and to extend their spectral region of operation. Nitrogen laser pumped dye lasers are limited to dyes which absorb the nitrogen laser light (at 337.1 nm) or to pumping schemes where the excitation energy is transferred from an absorbing donor (D) to an acceptor (A) (the lasing dye molecule). Therefore, energy transfer dye lasers (ETDL) [1], [2] and laser induced intermolecular and intramolecular energy transfer (Inter-ET and Intra-ET) processes in general have become the subject of intense study. We present herewith experimental and theoretical studies of ETDL, Inter-ET and Intra-ET processes.KeywordsPump PowerVibronic CouplingDual FluorescenceIntramolecular Energy TransferAcridine YellowThese keywords were added by machine and not by the authors.
