Abstract
Most of the reliability problems of system involving solid dielectric materials are supposed to be due to both space-charge existence and material inhomogeneities (such as cavities, voids, etc.). A method allowing the measurement of internal surface charges in the surrounding of the walls of these flaws is presented. Theoretical basis of the calculation necessary to perform these measurements using the laser-induced pressure pulse method are given.
